Winter Generosity for Nonprofits

Hello everyone, my name is Emily Rangel, and I am a student at California State University Monterey Bay CSUMB.  I am currently going into my senior year and working as an NPC intern through my field training program in Collaborative Human and Health Services.

This week’s blog is once again how nonprofits can benefit from the holiday season. The Winter season sparks generosity among individuals to give back to their community. Many nonprofits receive more significant donations at the end of the calendar year per findings from the article “Seven Santa Cruz County nonprofits you need to hear from this giving season“: “For nonprofits, the month is even more important since a quarter of all nonprofits report that they raise half of their annual donations during the holidays.” (Lookout’s Community & Commerce team, 2021). This statement highlights the importance the end of the year brings to many nonprofits. This article also includes how local nonprofits were able to maximize the community’s generosity to benefit the organization. SEE EXAMPLES HERE. Ultimately, this article promotes the power the holiday season holds, and the potential impact fundraising can bring to an organization during this time. I hope to see this article encouraging organizations to profit from donations and volunteerism the holiday season offers.
