The Community Assessment Project (CAP) is a multi-year initiative to conduct a longitudinal community assessment to measure and improve the quality of life in Santa Cruz County.

The tools and data on this platform help local leaders, public servants, concerned community members, funders, researchers and students better understand our community and address root causes of social and economic inequities across Santa Cruz County.
OR3 was created in 2020 to improve our community’s emergency response, elevate our disaster awareness, and prepare for increases in extreme weather due to climate change – beyond traditional emergency operations to create a full-service division to help our community prepare for disasters, respond during emergencies, and assist with recovery.
