This week’s Member Spotlight is for Santa Cruz Community Ventures’ program SEED, also known as SEMILLITAS, alongside Dientes which has recently partnered to contribute to a newborn’s college savings account. A little background of the program, any baby born after December 31, 2020, will automatically receive a gift of up to $50 to go towards their future education expenses (See video below for more information).

This type of program helps ensure that our communities have a sense of belonging regardless of their household income, that our children have a sense of a future, regardless of where their parents maybe,” says (Santa Cruz Community Ventures Executive Director) Maria Cadenas.

The partnership with Dientes also provides more gifts for children as they reach dental hygienic milestones.  As Dientes’ contribution, children ages 2-6 will be eligible for up to $200.

Semillitas is giving parents in Santa Cruz County the opportunity to begin investing in their children’s health, education, and future from the day they are born, and we are thrilled to be a partner in this innovative program and provide incentives for preventative dental care along the way,” (Dientes CEO) Laura Marcus says.
