Hello everyone! Happy Pride month! Here is an article that can steer you in the right direction on how to be an ally, not only for this month but everyone month of the year! Furthermore, it shows how to support LGBTQ+ communities and organizations. During Pride month, it is important to show support as an ally but one also should take the time to educate themselves about the community and the struggles they have faced. We are in the year 2021 and it has only been 6 years since Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), the Supreme Court case that legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states. While we are progressing, we also need to acknowledge the struggles the LGBTQ+ community faces, such as LGBTQ+ youth make up a great percentage of homelessness. Furthermore, the community still experiences discrimination and prejudice. This month let us all contribute through donation or education.
