What we do

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County (BGCSCC) is to inspire and enable all children, especially those who need us most, to build character and confidence and to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. We do this by providing safe places filled with enriching programs and caring adult mentors who actively foster a sense of belonging and connection to ensure that our youth feel supported and valued. Our programs focus on academics, recreation, art, music, career exploration, health/wellness, and character development for youth ages 6-18. Our downtown Santa Cruz, Live Oak, and Scotts Valley Clubhouses are open five days-a-week after school, on many holidays, and during the summer months when kids need a safe, fun and positive place to go. In addition, we host summer and holiday day camps and offer a wide range of special interest programs that include art, music, swim lessons, a basketball league and a surf club.
