De-Escalation Training – Conflict Resolution Center of Santa Cruz County

October 17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Resource Center for Nonviolence $65

We experience anger and frustration at home, in the workplace, in public spaces, in service industry settings like restaurants, etc., in ways that sometimes feel out of proportion to the circumstances. We can also be on the receiving end of others’ anger and frustration in these settings.

Why does this happen? How does it affect us? How can we respond? De-escalation skills are key in helping people (including ourselves) reduce anger and increase the calmness and clarity that allow us to deal with immediate problems and issues more effectively.

This course will help you:

  • Investigate the way that stress increases our potential for anger and reactivity.
  • Understand the physiology of anger.
  • Learn and practice techniques for de-escalating anger and conflict with role plays and real-life examples.
  • A minimum of eight participants are required for the training to proceed. If the date is changed, the registration fee can be refunded or moved to the next training session.
Date:
October 17
Time:
5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

$65
