Many San Lorenzo Valley families are still rebuilding their lives after the devastating impacts of the CZU wildfires. Surviving a massive natural disaster while living through the Covid-19 pandemic has made recovery even more challenging than it might have been in different times.
But SLV residents continue to rise up to meet these challenges with same kind of heart that has always powered the work we do at Mountain Community Resources. MCR saw an immediate increase in demands for assistance as the pandemic began to take hold. We stepped in to provide relief, food and comfort to CZU survivors.
There’s so much more to do. Mountain Community Resources is hosting the valley’s only mobile Covid testing site. The center will continue to offer advocacy and legal support for those struggling with housing or trying to rebuild in our community; and as always, MCR will continue to be a valuable resource for valley families who need help.
Join us as we come together in celebration of San Lorenzo Valley’s strength and resiliency. The event will feature local wines, fabulous Maker’s Market arts and crafts from SLV creators, a silent auction, and live music. To learn about the work Community Bridges did last year and our support for CZU fire families, watch Dr. Juko Holiday’s fire story here – and then join us, if you can.
*Covid-19 safety protocols will be observed. To create a safe, socially distanced event, only 60 tickets will be sold for this event. All attendees will be asked to provide proof of vaccination. Attendees will also be given a temperature scan and health screening upon arrival.
