WHO: Cara Emard, LAEP/Work Study Coordinator and Andrew Cunningham, Director Of Development, Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County

WHY: Info Session on UCSC Off-Campus Work-Study
● Work-Study covers 75% of the student’s wages up to $4,000 per year depending on students’ financial need
● Students can begin working Students can begin working a work-study job on the first day of Fall quarter. This is typically the week before Fall classes begin. For Fall 24, the first day of Fall quarter is September 21, 2024.
● Students can remain funded throughout the year until their award is exhausted or until June 12th (last day of Spring)
● </= 15 hours/week
● CA Minimum wage is $16.00, but wages should be comparable to industry standardsFederally funded work-based learning program:
● Student benefit: Provides career relevant employment to undergraduates who need the earnings to help meet their costs of postsecondary education
● Nonprofit benefit: Hire talented and motivated UCSC students at a reduced costFOR: Executive Directors, CEOs, and HR ProfessonalsAbout: Cara, Emard: Passionate Educator with Administrative Experience, LAEP/Work Study Coordinator, earned LinkedIn Certificstion for Employee Coaching and People Development
