Following the resounding success and overwhelmingly positive reception of our previous Farm and Enterprise Tour, the Homeless Garden Project (HGP) is thrilled to announce the planning of more captivating tours for all to enjoy. Our second tour is scheduled for Saturday, August 26 from 10 am to 12 pm.
As one of our previous visitors eloquently put it, “We enjoyed the mix of learning about farming/agriculture and learning about how HGP helps individuals who are in the program. We also found the samples to be a lot of fun.” It is this blend of education, community-building, and delicious taste testing that sets our Farm and Enterprise Tour apart, leaving a lasting impression on all who attend.
Tour participants will gain an understanding of the employment and community-building programs. The tour is available once a month, making it accessible to everyone. Admission costs $30 per person, which includes a pint of strawberries or tomatoes and a gardener soap to take home as a souvenir. Children under 5 can attend for free with a paid adult.
Our knowledgeable staff will guide you on a captivating 1 ½ hour journey through the Homeless Garden Project’s Natural Bridges Farm. Learn about the Homeless Garden Project’s sustainable agriculture practices and their social enterprises. The Homeless Garden Project’s workforce development and support services programs for people experiencing homelessness have an impressive track record–93% of program graduates obtain jobs and 84% obtain housing within 3 months of leaving the program.
