How do programs, policies, partnerships, and investments in Healthy Environments support whole health in all the CORE Conditions for Health and Well-being? What is the value of environment to community well-being — and does current funding match the value? If not, how can we fill the gaps through increased public funding and alignment among nonprofit partners?
These are some of the questions we’ll explore in a CORE Coffee Chat on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:15. Join your hosts, Nicole Young and Nicole Lezin, for a conversation about the Impact of the Environment on Health & Well-being with Mariah Roberts, Aniko Millan and Yadira Flores (County Parks Friends), Kirsten Liske (Ecology Action), Sarah Newkirk (Land Trust of Santa Cruz County), Kristal Caballero (Park Rx), Nick Calubaquib (City of Watsonville Parks and Community Services), Felicia Van Stolk (Natural History Museum) Tracey Weiss (O’Neill Sea Odyssey), Lisa Laurie (Resource Conservation District), Tony Elliot (City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation) and others.
Our guests will share how they and other partners “mapped” their work and current public funding in the environmental sector to the CORE Conditions for Health and well-being (and other models), then discuss how they’re applying the findings to their planning, messaging, partnerships, and advocacy.
