Nonprofit Connection Santa Cruz County welcomes you to our first Meet and Greet with Carlos Palacios, County Administrative Officer for Santa Cruz County, and his two Assistant County Administrative Officers, Elissa Benson and Nicole Coburn.
They will share an update on major issues and trends facing the County. These issues include: (1) significant new State mandates for Behavioral Health and Homeless policy which will greatly impact the provision of health and human services by the County for years to come, (2) the Board of Supervisors recent adoption of a landmark new Housing Element which is without precedent in the County’s history and will guide housing policy for the next decade, and (3) the growing impact of climate change on the County budget due to the increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters and how these climate impacts on the County budget will be the most significant issue facing the County in the future.
You will have the opportunity to share information about your nonprofit and how you would like to collaborate on these issues. We can all learn from the nonprofits that participate.
A light lunch will be provided.
