Field Trip Docent

Farm Discovery at Live Earth is a nonprofit organization working in the Pajaro Valley community to empower youth and families to build and sustain healthy food, farming, social and natural systems.  Additionally, Farm Discovery offers educational programs that inspire youth and families to transform their relationship to food, farming and nature.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking volunteer who will support our Education program. The Field Trip Docent will help lead field trips for local students who visit the farm.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome school groups
• Help lead farm tours especially for large groups of students.
• Run one station four times with 12-15 kids, or all four stations with the same 12-15 kids all morning.

Qualifications:

Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual
Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Superb verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and with others, including staff and volunteers
Excellent ethical standards and personal integrity
