POSITION: Program Administrative Assistant

LOCATION: Davenport Resource Service Center, 150 Church St., Davenport, CA 95017

REPORTS TO: Program Director

HOURS/STATUS: 30-35 hrs. per week

SALARY: $20- $22 per hour

BENEFITS: Medical, dental and life insurance (employee only, employee pays half of dental insurance); 24 days of paid time off/sick leave per year; 12 paid holidays per year; retirement and vision plan (retirement after 6 months).

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Program/Administrative Assistant at the Davenport Resource Service Center provides administrative services to assist the Program Director and Coordinator and helps with general program functions related to the daily operations of the Center, conducts outreach to area farm workers and families, and coordinates the center’s Food Distribution program, as well as other duties as assigned.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing administrative support including clerical duties, answering phones, data entry, detailed record-keeping, assisting with reports to funders, correspondence, and electronic and physical file maintenance.
Responsible for creating flyers, PowerPoint presentations, social media postings and other promotional materials under direction from program leadership.
Assist in communication with community partners for resources, referrals, and workshop collaborations.
Assist with community fundraising efforts, event preparation, follow-up and tracking.
Attend meetings and trainings relevant to job duties.
Assume other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
DIRECT CLIENT SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the operation of DRSC’s food distribution program including weekly produce distributions, walk-in food pantry, and deliveries to local farms.
Responsible for providing excellent client service to diverse populations.
Responsible for providing client assistance including form-assistance, translation, advocacy, and referrals as needed.
Assist with outreach, recruitment and case management to low-income, senior, and farmworker area residents including in-person, via phone/Zoom, and on social media.
Assist with other DRSC programs as needed, including youth and family programs, senior services, COVID-19 outreach, and fire recovery support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

AA degree and/or equivalent of 2 years of outreach, administrative duties and/or related experience.
Bilingual/biliterate (Able to speak, read and write English/Spanish) REQUIRED; bicultural preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (Word, Access, Teams, PPT, etc.
Excellent organizational, customer service and verbal and written communication skills (English and Spanish).
Strong initiative and willingness to pitch in as needed. Outstanding follow-through with tasks.
Ability to work cooperatively, respectfully and non-judgmentally with diverse cultures, ages, and interests.
Ability to work some evening hours on a weekly basis and occasional weekend hours required.
Safe driving record, current CA driver’s license and insured vehicle REQUIRED.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach and routinely safely lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to pass background check in order to work with children and seniors.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with farmworkers and/or low-income persons.
Knowledge and familiarity with the Santa Cruz County network of health, social service and related agencies.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ability to engage in multiple concurrent projects.
